I’ve been a bit lax about posting this past week. (Perhaps I should blame it on Thanksgiving and the holidays…) Actually, we’ve been busy, busy, busy. Among other things, we’ve been preparing for the December 9, 7:30 p.m., Historic Preservation Commission meeting at which we’ll present our application for Phase 1 work. Luckily, we’ve had lots of assistance from the Burlington City Planning department staff and the Commission members.
My real update is about this weekend, though. I wanted to remind everyone about the Christmas Tour out at Glencoe this weekend.
Saturday, Dec. 6, 11am-5pm and Sunday, Dec. 7, 1pm-5pm. Tickets are $10/piece and can be purchased at the Village entrance.
Many of the Mill Village homes are on the tour, as well as the mill owner’s house, and the Textile Heritage Museum. I got a preview of the Glencoe holiday cheer a couple weeks ago when I stopped by Ann Hobgood’s house, one of the mill houses on the tour. She was in the early stages of decorating, but it was already so amazing — total eyecandy. Right then, I knew that I had to take the tour this year. So if you’re in need of some good holiday cheer or some inspiration to get your own holiday decorations up (like me), drive over to Glencoe and take the tour!
