This brick two-story building was constructed in 1942 as an addition to the Picker House. Situated between the Picker House, and the Cotton Sheds, overlooking the Mill Race, this building, still has its hardwood flooring, heavy timber beams. When the Mill was in operation, the Warehouse was used to store cotton and house mill machinery. The Cotton Warehouse will be part of our first phase of construction, along with the Cotton Sheds, the Machine Shop, the Hydroelectric Plant, and the Picker House.

I don’t have very much information about the Glencoe workers, but if you’re still looking for information, try the Textile Heritage Museum. The people who run the museum are knowledge goldmines and very nice. They’ve been immersed in mill history, and they may have some good information for you! Good luck.
